What is Ecstasy?
MDMA or 3-4-Methylenedioxy methamphetamine is a stimulant drug that can also be extracted from the essential oil of sassafras tree.  This drug when consumed will give a sense of elated bliss. Due to this unique feature the MDMA drug is also known as Ecstasy. This drug is abused to get the feeling of well-being or for hallucination effects.

What are some street names for Ecstasy?
Some street names for Ecstasy are X, E, XTC, MDMA, Adam, Hugs, Lovers Speed, Go, Crystal etc.

How is Ecstasy used?
Ecstasy is usually taken in a pill form but it can be injected as well. Some people crush it and snort it.

What are side effects of Ecstasy?
The Ecstasy drug is manufactured using artificial products. Manufactures have been known to use caffeine, cough syrup, chalk powder, cocaine, rat poison and many other harmful ingredients. Ecstasy abuse could lead to poisoning and adverse effects on the body.
Ecstasy is being abused by college and high school youngsters to enhance the mood to dance for long hours leading to dehydration or high body temperature. This situation could lead to breakdown of important organs in the body. Cardiovascular dysfunction and seizures are the most common after effects of Ecstasy abuse.

What are some signs of Ecstasy Use?
The abuse of ecstasy also induces side effects like unconscious teeth grinding, vision blurring, excess sweating, feeling of cold, heart rate increase and increase in BP.  Even after the drug effect reduces, the Ecstasy addict suffers from depression and sleeping disorder.

With repeated abuse of the drug, it ends in destroying the body cells that secret serotonin. This serotonin helps in controlling the mood, memory, learning ability and craving for food. This also disturbs the body in feeling the pain through our body senses.
