Heroin Withdrawal

Heroin Withdrawal
Heroin is one of the most lethal drugs. The highest death rate related to drug use is heroin. Heroin is one of the most hardest and dangerous drugs to withdraw from. Heroin withdrawal is very painful physically and mentally.

Heroin can be immediately addicting as soon as a person starts taking it. It hits the brain-blood barrier and the blood flow stops when used. As the result of stopping blood flow, the brain loses its ability to control the body functions. Abilities of logically thinking and reasoning also shut down as a result of blood blockage to the brain. If a person takes an overdose of heroin, his respiratory and nervous system gets affected which sometimes results in death.

Removal from heroin is extremely excruciating. Symptoms of withdrawal start as soon as twelve hours after the last use of heroin. The first 2-4 days hit the highest and worst symptoms of withdrawal. Within a week, the withdrawal symptoms become subsided. But still patients may feel pain and weakness.

Common heroin symptoms include: vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, chills, extreme restlessness, sweating, tears, runny nose, goosebumps, insomnia, aches, yawning and abdominal cramps etc. Anxiety and depression are some withdrawal symptoms as well. Muscle spasms may occur which cause them to kick. Craving for heroin comes intense during its withdrawal, so there must be some people around him to stop him from taking heroin again.

Severe heroin withdrawal symptoms last for around three days but the residual effects last longer and will slowly come to an end over a long period of time.
Make sure to get help for heroin withdrawal from the people around you. Remember that heroin is one of the most dangerous and hardest drugs to stop using. You can successfully overcome the heroin addiction with successful heroin treatment.
