What is LSD?
Few plant varieties and mushrooms have been proved to have components that could be used to create a hallucination effect or feeling of ecstasy. The hallucination component contains nitrogen. This could be relegated as alkaloids. LSD is a form of lysergic acid. This acid is found in a fungus called ergot. This ergot is a source to make alkaloids and lysergic acid.

What are some street names for LSD?
The street names for LSD are acid, microdots, purple haze, blotters, fry, blaze, tab, dose, gel, pyramid, trips.

How is LSD used?
LSD is consumed orally and is available as tablets and in liquids form. The tablets are crushed and inhaled from an absorbent paper.  LSD in liquid form is available in containers for oral consumption. This drug is also available as gelatin squares. Gelatin and liquid LSD could be used as eye applicator.

Why do people use LSD?
Otherwise called as d-lysergic acid diethylamide acid, LSD is a popular drug in the hallucinogens category. Hallucinogens enhance the mood and often lasts for twelve hours. The high people experience after one dosage are called “trips” as it takes them into the feeling of ecstasy.

What are side effects of LSD?
The after effect of the drug depends on the amount of drug used and the individual’s characteristics. The abused user may go through several emotional mood swings leading into an erroneous belief that they are held in the face of evidence to the contrary and hallucination. The drug also makes the victim loose track of time and self and inculcates a fear of loss and death.

What are some signs of LSD use?
LSD abuse leads into medical complications with pupils getting dilated, high temperature, heart beat increasing, BP, insomnia and no appetite for food.  They also go through tremors due to illness caused by the drug abuse. A long term abuse of the drug would lead the victim to experience an unexpected recall of past memories.
